Fall Registration 2017 is Open: Online, In-Person Reg’n Available Apr 25 and May 4

PHMSA along with all of AYSO is switching from EAYSO to Blue Sombrero for registration, you may now register your player at PHMSA’s Blue Sombrero site. While you will need to re-enter all of your information, the good news is that you can now pay online.

Live, in-person registration is also still an option, and you must bring proof of Date of Birth.

Tuesday April 25th 2017, time 7 pm to 9 pm

Thursday May 4th 2017, time 7 pm to 9 pm

Please register at PHMSA’s Blue Sombrero site. You can pay online with credit card, or finish registration forms online, and pay in person.

2017 Cost:

Fees will be $117.50 for U5, all other age groups will be $145 for registration prior to July 1, or $195 for late registrations.  If you want to take advantage of the early bird price, you must remember to check the appropriate box on the bottom of the page on step 3 of the process.

Age Division Changes

Important Updates this Fall for Age Divisions:
US Soccer has instituted Birth Year registration. AYSO has adopted this starting with the MY2017
membership year (8/1/2017 – 7/31/2018) along with the new Division naming convention ##U verses
U##. (The “U” means under)

What this means to you: All players born between 1/1 and 7/31 will see no change in their progression within the divisions. Those born between 8/1 and 12/31 will move up one “rung” in the division ladder this year only. All that has happened is that the 2-year window we use for most divisions has slid back by 5 months.

May 2017 Interplay Tryouts

We will be forming fall Interplay teams for certain age groups between 2003 and 2008 beginning in June.  Given the majority of these players will have participated in our select program we anticipate giving about 6 weeks off and starting practices in the mid-july time frame.  We do not anticipate adding an additional team for boys and girls at each age level but would like as many participants in tryouts as possible to assess whether their are enough players to form a team.  We will hold the tryouts on the following dates with time and location noted.
We anticipate each of these teams competing in the Bay Area Fall Soccer League which is comprised of local AYSO Regions including Concord, MDSA and Walnut Creek and Eclipse Soccer Club.  For more information on Interplay – please see the Interplay page on our website:  http://www.phmsa.org/programs/interplay-season/

Registration are due by Friday, Febraury 18th. 

The 2017 Boys Soccerfest weekend is set for March 18-19 and the Girls tournament will take place on April 1-2.

Select and Interplay Tryout Dates 2016

After a fair amount of discussion we have made the decision to hold the select and interplay tryouts at the same time. Because of the timing of the Interplay season which primarily plays on Sundays we are moving the tryouts into November and are planning on holding them on the following dates and times.

    • 2004 and up from 1:00pm to 2:15pm at College Park Turf
    • 2005 and 2006 from 2:15pm to 3:30pm at College Park Turf
    • 2007 and 2008 from 3:30pm to 5:00pm at College Park Turf
  • Saturday November 12th
    • 2004 and up from 12:00pm to 1:15pm at Hidden Lakes Turf
    • 2005 and 2006 from 1:30pm to 2:45pm at Hidden Lakes Turf
    • 2007 and 2008 from 3:00pm to 4:15pm at Hidden Lakes Turf
  • Sunday November 13th
    • 2004 and up from 12:00pm to 1:15pm at Hidden Lakes Turf
    • 2005 and 2006 from 1:30pm to 2:45pm at Hidden Lakes Turf

Times and location of the tryouts need to be determined though we will trying to use Hidden Lakes field as much as possible in the same relative time tables as currently posted on the Select and Interplay page.

The rationale for this decision is that it gives players form house and Interplay equal opportunity to compete to play on Interplay or select teams and avoids the confusion from last year whereby players were selected to play on both teams and had conflicting priorities.  This message is going out to both Interplay and select coaches – we will use one coach sign up form where it will be amended to add whether you’d like to be considered for select/interplay or both.  If you have already submitted an application I will just add your preference to the data that already exists.

On the plus side, the added time between now and tryouts give us the ability to recruit additional players.

Much like last year we will look to have Interplay selection on Saturday November 19th while it is a few days later we will look to complete the select draft on Sunday November 20th with player announcements happening shortly thereafter.

A note will go out to all players indicating the change in timing and promoting that they sign up and come and tryout.  However, you will be their most impactful source of encouragement so please make an effort to spread the word to your players. We will provide an electronic copy of a flyer for you to distribute in the next day or so.

Silent Saturdays are coming! September 24 is our first one of the season.

What does that mean? Silent Saturday is designed to give the players an opportunity to play a game in a quiet, peaceful environment. This includes ANY coaching from coaches and especially the sideline for U10 and up. U6 and U8 parents are asked not to coach or cheer. You can make a game strategy up and give your players their location on the field then sit back and enjoy the game.

Support your team on Silent Saturday in a creative way! Have your parents and families wear your team colors, bring rally towels, make banners – sign – flags with players names on them. Just no noise. Get siblings involved! Get together and make a plan as a team on how you’ll encourage and support your players and team on the two Silent Saturdays this season.
Silent Saturday is for everyone – including our kids and parents. If you think you are going to have a hard time keeping your sideline quiet, bring a bag of suckers and hand one to every person on the sideline BEFORE the game. Let them know this is to help them if they start feeling the urge to scream, pop that sucker in their mouth! It’s a light hearted reminder that everyone needs to be quiet for one game.

2016 Registration for U6 and up is closed

Thank you everyone who registered, and sent in paperwork and forms.
We are still working on trying to place kids on our waitlist and those sent in.

Eayso will stay open to allow U5 Registration, but U6-U19 is closed with most spaces being filled. If you still have problems email your division coordinator and soccer@phmsa.org.
